Dakota

Sweet, gentle Dakota has been a visitor and volunteer favorite since she first arrived at TWP. Born at Greater Wynnewood Zoo, belonging to the infamous Joe Exotic, Dakota was rehomed to multiple owners who lacked adequate fencing before finally ending up in a really dangerous situation. Luckily, we were able to step in, and a few months later, also reunite her with her brother and littermate Bandit. Unlike many wolfdogs, who have a "cat-like" personality, Dakota thrives on attention and will even pass up on treats in favor of getting scritches and belly rubs from favorite volunteers and complete strangers alike. Dakota began acting as an informal ambassador only a few months after arrival, and was voted to official ambassador position in December of 2023.
