Duke
Duke came to Texas Wolfdog Project in April of 2024 after sadly being shuffled between multiple owners and finally abandoned in Houston, Texas. A Good Samaritan took him in, recognized him as a wolfdog, and reached out to us, allowing us to facilitate his rescue. Considering his harsh beginnings, it's not surprising that Duke is still quite wary of people, but he's also pretty curious and quickly warming up to these funny people who keep giving him lots of yummy food and treats. We're confident that given time, patience, and TLC, Duke will blossom into the sweet, social wolfdog that he's meant to be.
We estimate that Duke was probably born in the spring of 2023. He has been gene tested and is a low content wolfdog at 41.7% wolf heritage. Based on his tan toenails, we believe he's an Arctic-line wolfdog, and therefore a bit special; it's rare to see low-content Arctics.
