My name is Lyra and volunteers say I’m one of the sweetest girls at Texas Wolfdog Project. I may not demand attention quite as much as some of our younger wolfdogs, but I love affection from guests and volunteers alike. I’m equally happy with quiet bellyrubs on my enclosure platform or playing with my penmate, Domino.

My story started in Virginia, where someone purchased me as a puppy. Unfortunately, as often happens, they were not prepared to manage my puppy behaviors. I was turned into the local shelter where I stayed for about a month, stealing the hearts of everyone who met me. A nearby rescue kick-started my journey to Texas Wolfdog Project. I like it here, but I’d really love a home of my own! My indoor manners might need some touching up, but I walk nicely on a leash and I like sitting for treats.
